AAYA ADVENTURES

Things I did in Seattle this summer that aren't Pike Place Market

As a Seattle native staying in my hometown for the summer, I made it a mission to try activities I have never done before and from this I was so surprised how many things there really were to do in the greater Seattle area. Because I lived in Washington for 15 years, I always took the state for granted but this summer I really rediscovered the beauty of the pacific northwest and what it has to offer.

I took a yoga class offered by Yerbana this summer. And get this... it's free! Yerbana hosts free yoga every Thursday at 6:30pm at gas works park in the summer. It was great doing yoga while watching the Seattle skyline views. The time of day and the weather was amazing as well. The weather was around 65 degrees (F) which made it so I was not uncontrollably sweating and I was not shivering either. the class being at 6:30 was perfect to watch the sunset right after!

I went blueberry picking at Mountainview Blueberry Farm in Snohomish, Washington - a short drive away from Seattle. As a blueberry lover, I can definitely say blueberries taste better picked right off the stem. It was such a fun activity to do with a friend. We spent about 2 hours picking blueberries and spent about $10 collectively at the end.

I went to Seattle Art Museum. After moving to New York and being surrounded by art galleries and creatives at all times, I was craving that after coming back to Seattle. The Seattle Art Museum was a fun experience and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Probably the highlight of my entire summer was seeing The Weeknd in concert at Lumen Field. Since Seattle is a relatively big city, most of the major artists play in Seattle. I ended up seeing four concerts in one week and I had literally the best time ever. The Climate Pledge Arena is definitely my favorite venue because you can see the Space Needle right outside of it.

The best part of Washington State, in my opinion, is the scenery. The whole state is lined with evergreen trees and there are beautiful hikes all over.
